The Fukuoka Hawks are not a Moneyball team

According to Lee Sinins:
The Fukuoka Hawks signed free agent 3B Tony Batista to a 2 year, $15 million contract.

After -3 RCAA/.766 OPS and -29 RCAA/.663 OPS seasons, Batista had a .455 SLG, .272 OBA, .728 OPS, -20 RCAA in 157 games with the Expos.

Ouch! That's a lot of money for a crappy player. Batista probably didn't get an offer from an MLB team for more than a million or so for one year. Instead he goes to Japan to make $7.5M/yr.
