The New Yorker - a REAL magazine

There is a good little article about the Yankees in the May 10th edition of the New Yorker (sorry, it's not online anymore). Why can't all baseball columnists write as wonderfully as they do in the New Yorker? Ah well, I guess we'll have to settle for what we have. Or we can just ignore them and read the blogs for our baseball news. That's pretty much what most of us do anyway. I stopped reading the Atlanta Journal Crapstitution years ago because it sucked so bad. Every once in a while I pick it up at work in the break room and I remember why I don't read it anymore. Does anyone out there have similar experiences with the newspaper rags? Is there anyone decent out there anymore?

Aaron's Gleeman, John Kruk, and Roman Polanski

Go over to Aaron's Baseball Blog and ready his entry on John Kruk and Roman Polanski. I totally agree with Aaron on this one, 100%.

I'ts nice to see...

A Yankee victory like this. All too often the Yankees have had to come back from behind after a dismal pitching performance by Osbourne or Mussina or Contrares. Thank the baseball gods for Kevin Brown! Winning 2-1 on hits by Flaherty & Tony Clark makes we Yankee fans feel a bit better by showing that we can win with: 1. an excellent pitching performance, and 2. offense produced by the "other" guys on the team, the guys who aren't in the headlines 24/7. Two fill-ins provided just enough offense to put us over the top and give us a 'W'. Thanks guys. (Oh, yeah, the relievers were near flawless, too.)
