Braves/Mets game - Pinch Hitting Extraordinaire

Yeah, I went to the Braves & Mets Funhouse of Runs this evening and I saw something I don't think that I've ever seen before. The Braves were batting around in the 4th inning and I noticed that Julio Franco, who pinch hit for Hampton earlier in the inning, was almost ready to get another at bat! I started talking about it to the people around me when Estrada was up (7th in the order). Well, he got on, and so did DeRosa batting eigth. That meant that Julio Franco, as a pinch hitter, was up twice in the same inning AS A PINCH HITTER! It was insane! And, on top of all that, he got a singles both times up, driving in a run each time! I don't think anyone at the park really realized the craziness of such a thing!!! I'd love to find out when the last time that has happened. Anyone? Please, I'm dying to know!

Kevin Brown - 7 more innings

Well, so far so good. Kevin Brown has given the Yanks two solid games, and more importantly, he's pitched 7 innings in both games. If he can keep giving us 7 innings every outing, we'll be gold.

Banged up Twins

According to Lee Sinins (link on right), the Twins had a rough day yesterday:
Good luck guys, you have a good team, let's try and stay healthy.

Trachsel vs. Hampton

It looks like it's going to be Trachsel pitching against Hampton at the game tonight. It starts at 7pm. I'll try and give everyone my impression of the game tonight or tomorrow. I know that I've been severely lax in updating this blog, especially with the start of baseball season, and I apologize. I've been really busy with work stuff and planning for my trip to Italy which is in 3 weeks. Thanks for sticking with me, and I promise that I'll get myself back on a regular schedule of blogging shortly.

SF - no more A to Z

David Aardsma made the SF Opening Day roster, but it looks like Chad Zerbe did not. That would have been pretty cool if they both made it. "We've got baseball covered, from Aardsma to Zerbe" kinda has a nice ring to it.
